Working within the basic framework of the Total Control Music System, the elements
of modern singing are explored, along with specifics of performing them. Vocal study
is divided into two main areas:
| |
Training: |
This refers to the physical development of the vocal apparatus. Using a
modified Stanley system, the student is led through a series of exercises
and manipulations which introduce changes in the physical structure of
the various parts of the anatomical vocal apparatus, in essence, building
a "new", improved voice -- a voice with better tone, range and endurance. |
| |
Coaching: |
This refers to learning how to interpret a song, including how to alter a given
melody, add dynamics, ornamentation, etc., all of which is done to help engage
the listener, and improve the singers "believability." If the student desires it,
we may also learn how to construct and sing harmony lines for many different
styles of music. |
